đ History of the International System: Episode - 01 đ
đ
Hello everyone! đ In today's special series, we will know how our world actually works. We always hear the word "International" or "International", but what is the secret behind it? Let's go deeper! đ
đ§ What is International?
Simply put, "inter" means "between" and "national" comes from "nation" or "state". That is, when two or more independent countries discuss relations, trade or war and peace between themselves, that is what we call the international system. đ¤đ
⏳ Where it all started: That turning point in history! đ
In ancient times, there were no such beautiful maps as today. Back then, there were big empires (such as the Roman or Mughal Empires). Back then, one king would occupy the territory of another king. ⚔️đĄ️
But this modern "international" system was born in 1648! Then the "Treaty of Westphalia" was signed in Europe. This agreement was the first to introduce the idea that:
Each country would have a specific border. đē️
No other country would be able to interfere within a country (which we call sovereignty). đ
đ️ How did this system develop?
Initially, it was only between European countries. But gradually, due to trade and travel by ship, it spread to the whole world. đĸđ¨
Communication: One country started sending ambassadors to talk to another country. ✉️
Trade: Countries started making agreements among themselves for the trade of spices, cloth and gold. đ°đ
Law: Everyone decided that certain rules should be followed at sea or on the battlefield. This is how international law was created. ⚖️
✨ Why is it important for you to know this?
Today you are sitting in Bangladesh using an American app đą or wearing a Chinese-made shirt đ—this is the benefit of the international system! Without this system, the world would still be in war and chaos. đ️
đ History of the International System: Episode - 02 đ
⚔️ World War I and the first failed attempt at peace! đĨ
Hello everyone! đ In the first episode, we learned how the borders of countries were created. But today we will learn about a time when the whole world was in a terrible fire and from there the first big attempt to bring "peace around the world" began. đ️đĨ
đŖ World War I: When the world stopped (1914-1918)
More than 100 years ago, a huge war broke out between the countries of Europe. It is called The Great War. đĢđĒ
Why did it happen? Basically, it was a fight for power, land, and pride. One country wanted to dominate another country. đđĨ
Damage: Billions of people died and many countries were reduced to rubble. People realized that if this continued, the world would be destroyed. đ️đŠš
đ️ Messenger of Peace: "League of Nations"
After the war ended, in 1920, the world's major leaders sat down in Geneva, Switzerland. They wanted to create an organization that would prevent any more wars in the future. đ¤đ
It was called the "League of Nations". This was the first major international political organization in history. đĸ✨
đ️ What was their main goal?
1. Stopping war: If there is a problem between countries, they will solve it through negotiations instead of fighting. đŖ️đŦ
2. Reducing weapons: Keeping an eye on countries not producing more deadly weapons. đĄ️đĢ
3. Workers' rights: Improving the working conditions of ordinary people around the world. đˇ♂️đ ️
❌ Why did it fail? (The Great Failure)
Unfortunately, this organization did not last long. The main reasons for this were:
The absence of America: Interestingly, although America had a big hand in creating it, they did not join it themselves! đēđ¸❌
Incompetence: They did not have their own army. If a big country broke the rules, the League of Nations could not stop them. đđ
Selfishness: The powerful countries only started looking after their own interests. đ⚠️
đ️ Result: The Footsteps of World War II
When the League of Nations became weak, dictators like Hitler rose to power. The world started moving towards a great catastrophe again. ⛈️đĻ
đĨ What's in the next episode...
How did people form a stronger "United Nations" (UN) after seeing the devastation of World War II? Who are the current controllers of the modern world? Stay tuned to find out! đđ
đ History of the International System: Episode - 03 đ
đĨ World War II and the Protector of the Present World: The United Nations (UN)! đ️
Hello everyone! đ In the last episode, we saw how the "League of Nations" failed and the world was once again plunged into the darkness of war. But today we will know how the modern world or today's "United Nations" was created from that rubble. đ️đ
đ️ World War II: The Greatest Catastrophe in History (1939-1945)
This war was more terrible than all previous wars! From the atomic bombs of Hiroshima-Nagasaki to Hitler's Nazi forces—the whole world became hell. đŖđĨ☢️
Why did it happen? Mainly because of dictatorship and extreme racism. đĻ ⚔️
Horror: About 7-8 million people lost their lives and the whole of Europe-Asia was destroyed. đ️đŠš
✨ 1945: The beginning of a new dawn! đ
After the war ended, the world's major countries (such as America, Britain, the Soviet Union) realized that if something strong was not done now, the existence of humans would be wiped out from the world. đĢđ
So on October 24, 1945, 50 countries signed a document in San Francisco, USA. The "United Nations" or UN was born. đđēđŗ
đ️ Why is the UN more important than before?
